Queensland Compliant Plastic Carry Bags

As of September 1, 2023, the Queensland government has enforced a strict ban on single-use plastic bags to curb plastic waste and to protect our environment. At QIS Packaging, we fully support this initiative, and we're here to help your business comply with these requirements.

We have a new bag that complies with Queensland laws and regulations, which is 80% recycled plastic, as certified by the GRS (Global Recycling Standard), and is extremely durable, as it has been machine tested to be used a minimum 125 times, while holding 10kg in the bag. Information on the Queensland Government regulations can be found here.

Find information on the South Australian regulations on single-use plastics here.

New Single Use Plastic Bag Regulations

Starting from the ban date, plastic film shopping bags must meet two additional regulations:

  1. They must contain a minimum of 80% post-consumer recycled content, certified by recognized programs;
  2. And prove their reusability for at least 125 cycles carrying 10kg weight through accredited testing facilities.

Embracing this sustainable approach will not only contribute to a greener planet but also position your business as an environmentally conscious leader.
